The International Conference EUropa.S. - EUropa Simulation is implemented this year on April 15-18, 2022 in Athens by the Institute for Research & Training in European Affairs - IRTEA and is funded by the Erasmus + program for youth through INEDIVIM (Foundation for Youth and Lifelong Learning) from the European Union. This year, EUropa.S dedicates and celebrates the year 2022 as the European Year of Youth (2022 European Year of Youth).
It is a conference simulating the institutions of the European Union, which gives students the opportunity to learn and become familiar with the role and function of the EU institutions, while
also contributes to the acquisition of soft skills that will help them in their careers. Also, as it is conducted in English and French, it is a great opportunity for participants to
to practice and improve their language skills, while at the same time allowing the participation of international students and Erasmus students in Greece to enrich their experience from their stay in our country.
The International Conference EUropa.S. is organized on an annual basis since 2010 at the University of Piraeus. After the short "break" due to the pandemic, this year it returns dynamically, raising issues of great importance for the European Construction. Greek and foreign students will gather to discuss issues related to environmental policy, foreign policy, education, but also technological developments in Europe. Each Institution that is simulated has a separate discussion agenda and the participants are asked to choose between those topics that interest them the most and are in line with the objects of their studies.
During the 4 days of the Conference, participants will have the opportunity to experience how each European Institution works and to be at the forefront of the latest developments in Europe.
In the wider context of the Conference, IRTEA will also carry out side events, such as open discussion days about the project in Athens, Thessaloniki, Rethymno and Komotini, structured dialogues and a special event. presentation of the results on the occasion of the celebration of 9 May (Europe Day).
IRTEA invites all young people aged 18-25 to participate in the International Conference EUropa.S. 2022, on 15-18 April 2022. General applications will be open until 28 February 2022, but the first round of applications closes on December 23, 2021.
The cost of participation (participation fee) amounts to 45 € for general positions and 25 € for staff members. In addition, IRTEA offers 28 scholarships to young people from the regions of Thessaloniki, Komotini and Rethymnon for their participation in the international conference.
