The European Information Center of the Public Benefit Enterprise of the Municipality of Thessaloniki organizes an event to celebrate Europe Day entitled "Seeing Europe through the eyes of children - Cultural Routes»On 9η May 2022, 16:00 - 18:00, at the Exterior Amphitheater of the City Hall.

On Europe Day, we celebrate peace and unity in Europe. This date marks the anniversary of the historic "Schuman Declaration", Who formulated the idea of ​​a new form of political cooperation in Europe, capable to make war between European nations unthinkable. The proposal of Robert Schuman, a proposal more modern than ever. is considered the beginning of the current European Union.

The creation of a common European conscience and identity is the cornerstone of a United Europe. Today's new generation, tomorrow's European citizens, can help strengthen the European dimension of each nation's cultural heritage.

As part of the above action, the participating students will be informed about the folklore elements of the traditional costumes of European Union countries, looking for similarities and differences in them. The prelude to the action will be the construction of EU flags. at the Centers for Creative Employment of Children (K.D.AP.) by the beneficiary children.

At the end of the event, educational materials of the European Union will be distributed to students.

The event is open and will be organized according to the necessary measures as they will be defined by the Ministry of Health due to the pandemic.
