MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF YOUNG THESSALONIKI: "Your Sheikh of Tomorrow" - Sunday 7/11/2021.

The Municipal Youth Council of Thessaloniki
and
the Committee on the Environment and Sustainability
organize the first Living Discussion on:
"Sheikh Su of Tomorrow"
on Sunday, November 7, 2021,
in the room "Panagiotis Papadopoulos" of the Craft Chamber of Thessaloniki (Aristotelous 27).
On the occasion of the fires of this summer and the subsequent natural disasters, the Municipal Youth Council of Thessaloniki takes the initiative to hold a discussion on the suburban forest of Sheikh Sou, with the aim of informing and raising public awareness about the forest and its protection.
Objects of discussion will be the historical framework for the creation and development of the forest as well as its current state. Additional areas of interest will be the sustainable management of the forest, the problems that arise in the area, but also the possible solutions.
The discussion will be attended in order of appearance by:

-Michalis Tremopoulos, Lawyer, Municipal Councilor of the Municipality of Thessaloniki

-Kalliopi Radoglou, Professor, Department of Forestry and Management of Environment and Natural Resources, Democritus University of Thrace

-Petros Kakouros, Dr. AUTh Forester, “ECOTOPIA” Magazine

-Peri Kourakli, Dr. Forester - Environmentalist, Thessaloniki Forest Service

-Socrates Dimitriadis, Deputy Mayor of Environment of the Municipality of Thessaloniki

-Antonis Saulidis, Deputy Mayor of Environment of the Municipality of Neapoli-Psyke

-Yannis Kartalis, Deputy Mayor of Environment of the Municipality of Pylaia-Chortiatis

 

Participation in the event is free, and pre-registration is required at the link: https://forms.gle/9Xo1apFYiVBeB1jW7.

The event will take place for life Covid-19 protection measures in force: with demonstration of vaccination or disease certificate.

The maximum number of people as a public is set at 30 people, while a priority time order will be observed.
